My favourite racing event of the year is about to take a bow - yes, Royal Ascot is just around the corner!
I love Ascot. It just oozes glamour.
Gorgeous ladies (including me!) wearing wonderful dresses and even more lovely hats.
And then there are the men-some of the most handsome males to be found anywhere, all making a real effort to look their best.
So the eye-candy is great for both sexes.
But of course man (or woman) does not live on sex alone. We also need food and drink - and Ascot provides both in abundance, with quality never being sacrificed to achieve quantity.
I usually put on about 5 lbs during Ascot week (although I lose more £s that that at the bookies!). But I don't mind; it comes off quickly enough and the fun us just too good to be missed!
I haven't even mentioned horses yet!
Amidst all the over-indulgence, I must not forget the gee-gees!
Many of the best horses in the World appear at Ascot. Last year, we were honoured to see Frankel, the greatest racehorse of all-time. Sadly, he is now retired and, even sadder, his trainer Sir Henry Cecil has gone to that great stable in the sky.
But though we will miss those that have gone forever, we will also throw our hats in the air to welcome new equine heroes.
I just can't wait to get into my beautiful frock-and to start quaffing the Champers !
